Attend several community recovery meetings in your area (Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Celebrate Recovery, etc.)
Form a GROUP of those who may be interested in helping start faith-based recovery meetings
Once an interest group is formed
Meet to explore individuals’ life experiences (may have some with experience in recovery) and meetings/material they have reviewed.
Go through the Life’s Healing Choices Book Study as a group
Consider attending a Recovery Training Conference
UPDATE YOUR PASTOR ON PROGRESS

Meetings to finalize the plan for the future

"SOFT” opening with a small group of people meeting for several weeks/months to get established and then do official kick-off

How often will leadership team meet (once or twice a month is recommended for the first few months) and schedule those meetings for at least 3-6 months.
Ensure that Leadership team is preparing/mentoring others to facilitate future recovery meetings
We do not recommend contacting the court system to be recognized by local treatment courts until your recovery program has been actively meeting for at least 12 months.
